The garden centre where you can live experiences and pairings for a lively Italian atmosphere

Flover opened in 1980 in Bussolengo, near Verona, as a floriculture – hence its name, a union of floriculture and Verona.

But the three founding brothers, Gianpaolo, Sergio and Silvano Girelli’s imagination and desire to innovate soon led the company to also offer other items and home accessories.
The same spirit leads them to go beyond their borders. New locations are being built in Affi, Desenzano and, more recently, in Desio and Modena, as well as new places dedicated to different activities and experiences, such as the Flower Mill of Ca’ di David, the production greenhouse of Lonato del Garda and the Flover Farm, designed to bring visitors closer to the beauties of nature.

There are numerous events organized, dedicated to various holidays and seasons, which attract many visitors from abroad. The most important is the one dedicated to Christmas, in which the space of the garden of Bussolengo turns into a real Christmas village that extends over 7,000 square meters of surface and remains the first and most important indoor Christmas market in Italy.

It is from this passion for nature and color that the advice of its experts is also born, designed for those who want to bring the beauty of the garden into every space.

Pairings for a lively Italian atmosphere

Combining and juxtaposing brightly coloured plants with appropriate pots is important to create balanced compositions that enhance the wonder of colours.

Davide Filippi, composition expert and plant department manager at Flover, has created five combinations of pots and plants in unique colours, which can easily give any environment the typical liveliness of an Italian garden.

The proposed combinations have a common denominator: the colour of the pot. This arrangement allows you to easily combine multiple pots, maintaining a basic coherence that really allows the beauty of the plants and their colours to emerge.

Flourishing and sunny

Rudbeckia is a plant that loves to be in the sun, although it also thrives in partial shade, and needs a lot of water. The flowers resemble a large daisy and are yellow but can also turn orange and red.

This plant can easily reach one meter in height. For this reason, it is combined with a large cylindrical pot which allows it to absorb all the water it needs to grow well and to develop the thick brush, long stems and generous blooms that characterise it. In this composition, ornamental ivy was added to add movement and make the base less flat.

Like butterfly wings

Oxalis Triangularis is characterized by its triangular, dark purple clover-shaped leaves and light, bell-shaped flowers that last almost all summer. It lives well in shady or semi-shady environments. Its leaves close in the evening and then reopen during the day, like butterfly wings.

It was combined with a simple, rounded and slightly cupped pot, which highlights the peculiarity of the plant.
