Art &Terracotta

Art is an extremely powerful and fascinating means of expression. That’s why, whenever the opportunity arises, we’re happy to take part in initiatives that weave it together with our world.

Lucio Serpani’s art installation at 2019 spoga+gafa fair

In 2019, Euganea Vasi’s exhibition space at the spoga+gafa fair in Cologne hosted an original art installation, more than three metres high, made by Lucio Serpani: Vaso 10X, a name that refers to «the abstraction, specific to mathematics and geometry», as pointed out by then Venetian artist. «I wanted to provide a symbolic value to an ancient object belonging to all cultures in the world» explains Serpani. «I was fascinated by the standard pot shape, its anonymous and simple design. Nobody can claim its authorship. Well, that pure form had to “explode”. Terracotta is a very ancient material, in perfect synergy with nature. But there is also innovation in this work: in order to create the metal grid that holds the pots together I used digital technology».

Warmth and Italian spirit are the cornerstones of our philosophy, which found their material expression in this artwork. In some way, the interweaving of these pots represents the network of relations with our collaborators. Together we can create something amazing and bigger than a pot.

Vaso 10X

With this work, the Venetian artist Lucio Serpani leads us to reflect on the things we take for granted. In Vaso 10X, Serpani takes the pot in its simplest form and transforms it into an element that becomes a larger, almost a monumental pot. In this way, he opens us up to a new dimension, further than the material one: he pushes us to think about the pot, its shape, its function,
its meaning.
